Celebrating Easter with Christmas Colors

In our front yard is the photinia fraseri, an evergreen shrub commonly called red tip or red top (particularly in the South where it has been frequently planted). This shrub celebrates spring with bronze red to bright red new leaves that emerge at the twig tips. The showy display lasts about 2-3 weeks, then the leaves gradually change to the glossy dark green.
