Stalactites

Getting down in the frozen dirt with the macro lens to capture these tiny half-inch “stalactitites”.  Stalactites begin with a single mineral-laden drop of water that travels through rock until it reaches an edge and drips down.  Same goes for frozen water.

(Funny – I still recall from 7th grade biology the difference between stalacTites, which form from the Top of a cave, and stalaGmites, which form on the Ground.)
