David Bromberg Quintet perform “New Lee Highway Blues”

Want a perfect ROAD TRIP song??????

This song originated from DB and his Big Band’s 1974 LP, “Wanted Dead or Alivel”. To die-hard fans, the album remains a classic.  FYI, it has been released as a CD several times − by Sony Music Media in 2004, by SBME Special Markets in 2008, and by Columbia Records in 2011.

I’ll venture a guess here that fiddler Nate Grower wasn’t even born then…

Granted the studio album included additional vocals, piano, lots of brass and piano, but still… cut to the quintet’s recent concert on November 2, 2013 at the High Point Theater – watch and listen as the musicians heat things up, and Nate’s fiddle burns up at the end!

(amateur photographer’s note:  apologies for some camera shakes as it was hard to remain still, but capturing this moment was very personal – it’s my favorite song by DB.  Aw… just download the CD; it’s all good!)
